Four sitting legislators lost their August 4 primary and will not appear on the November ballot for their current seat:
- Senate District 20 — Curtis Trent (R) lost to Lori Rook
- House District 56 — Michael Davis (R) lost to Steve Baker
- House District 97 — David Casteel (R) lost to David Robertson
- House District 144 — Tony Harbison (R) lost to Chris Dodson Dinkins
